The PNC (Pastor Nominating Committee) continues to meet weekly, becoming familiar with the process, documentation, and requirements necessary to guide them in their work. Their orientation was conducted by Gary Gallo, liaison from the Pittsburgh Presbytery's Committee on Ministry. The first phase of our work is the completion of the Church Information Form (CIF).
The CIF will take some time to complete. It is a description of our church, including demographic information, but it also contains a description of who we are and who we want to be as a church. It is also a statement of the expectations under which the minister we call will come to us and within which he or she will work for the first phase of the new pastorate.
It is important to the PNC that the CIF truly reflect who we are as a church. For that reason, the PNC is now developing a plan to ensure that members of the congregation have a voice in its development. It is our desire that all members of the congregation have ownership of these key sections of the CIF.
To this end, in the coming weeks members of the congregation will be provided many different opportunities to communicate with the PNC. We are looking forward to your input when these opportunities become available.
The Reverend Steve Lytch has met with the committee, providing guidance, insight, and support for our work.
Please join us in praying for God's guidance as we seek to discern God's will for our church and for the pastor who will be called to lead us.
