Church
Caring Neighbors
Vision:
Caring Neighbors is a ministry that provides short-term care to the members of our congregation

Tasks of Caring Neighbors:
Providing a meal (or portions of a meal) for new parents, someone who had a death in the family, or someone who is ill; providing a ride for medical appointments; sending a card or making a telephone call to someone who is grieving, experiencing a life change or just needs to know the church cares; helping with other short-term needs.

Confidentiality:
In our work as Caring Neighbors, we need to create an environment that is safe for our members. Our members need to know if they need help, the information will be held in confidence and will only be shared with those who need the information in order to see that the help is provided. The appropriate people would normally be one of the clergy but it is essential to ask if they mind if you contact the clergy.

Structure:
There are no mandatory contacts between the Caring Neighbors and members of the congregation in your Zone, or between the Caring Captains and Caring Neighbors in each Zone. You may have a get-together of people in your Caring Zone if you want but it is not a requirement.
