Sunday Children's Choir

Can't fit in the Wednesday Children's Choir times into your schedule? Here's another option for families to include singing in their schedule. School age children will be dismissed for Activities during the 11:00 service and rehearse (during the school year). Parents may pick up their children in the Anderson Music Center following worship.

Choir Chimes
Grades 4-8

Rehearsals are finished for summer. We'll resume in Fall. Watch for our schedule in late summer.

Attention kids grades 4-8: There's something just for you! Do you like playing musical instruments? Have you ever wanted to play the handbells? Choir chimes are known for their mellow sound, are fun to play and provide an introduction to bell choirs. Come learn the techniques of chime ringing as well as reading musical notations and symbols AND performing in an ensemble.

Christmas Pageant

In addition to participating occasionally in 11:00 AM worship services between September and May, the Children's Choirs also participate in the annual Children's Pageant during the 11:00 AM worship service on a Sunday in December. For the pageant there is required attendance at an extra rehearsal on the Saturday before the pageant from 11:00 AM to Noon.

Through the choirs, children will not only learn about singing and music-making, but will also experience a leadership role in worship.

What better way is there for children to learn the language of faith than through the language of music?
Making a commitment in the family schedule for children's choir is a great way to help faith come alive for children. Children will have an opportunity to develop their singing voice, play Orff and percussion instruments and experience the joy of music-making. Throughout the year, they will have opportunities for music leadership in Sunday worship services and programs.
