Samaritan Counseling Center
A nonprofit, Christian organization, Samaritan Counseling Center provides professional psychological counseling to men, women and children— incorporating the resources of faith. Under the care of Samaritan’s licensed therapists, people in crisis receive hope, healing and the tools they need to process through trauma, mental disorders and other difficult circumstances in their lives. In addition to counseling services, Samaritan offers:
- Educational programs
- Wellness programs
- Life Coaching
- Clergy care
- Congregational care
Since its inception in 1982, Samaritan has experienced tremendous growth. Currently, the Center has 10 locations—including its main office in the Church—in Allegheny, Beaver and Butler Counties. Samaritan serves approximately 2,000 people on an annual basis.
Of those served at Samaritan, more than a fourth lack health insurance coverage and an adequate income. Thanks to the Presbyterian Church, Sewickley and other churches, individuals, businesses, and foundations, Samaritan has never turned anyone away due to his/her inability to pay.
As a member of Samaritan's Partners in Ministry Program, Sewickley Presbyterian Church supports the Center financially and passes along referrals.
